Come and learn about Florida Sandhill Crane populations, their life cycles and their sensitive habitats. Florida Sandhill Cranes easily meet the criteria for a threatened species. Their population has declined 37.5% since 1997 and 2-3 times more managed land is needed, primarily in Central Florida in order to meet guideline goals of increasing the population by 10%. Owlidays Celebration
A celebration of winter holidays and exploration into their relationships to the ecosystems, birds, and other animals in the area, involving educational content for ages 3+ and games! Photo ops, goody bags and souvenirs, educational resources will be present. There will be a presentation on the Nature of Owls at 11 in the classroom, and this program will also be available online. Falcon Fascination
This program is a journey through time representing man's long term relationship with Peregrine Falcons. The importance of coastal areas, climate, water, bird friendly communities and migratory stop overs is discussed. Peregrine falcons are extreme predators that ended up on the endangered species list. The program features live falcons. Moccasin Lake Raptor Sanctuary in Clearwater serves as a sanctuary to these educational ambassadors. Click here to register!

Migrating species have been hit hard in recent decades by changes in their stop over points reducing the food and energy they are able to absorb, as well as by issues causing them to migrate at the wrong times to the wrong places, especially times and places that are not conducive to their survival and thriving in the wild. A punny day where we celebrate birds of prey and involve the Superbowl and its teams in our celebration! Join us to increase the donations in your team's bucket- and to raise money to feed the birds that live here! Don't worry- the event ends with plenty of time to get back home in time to catch the game!
